Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-15
Bask is operated by Jennova LLC. This explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in plain language.
What we collect
Account: when you sign in with Google we receive your email address. We never receive your Google password.
Profile: display name, photo, Instagram handle, birthdate, gender. Everything except the sign-in email is optional. Your birthdate is only used to show an age — we never display the date itself.
What you post: the plans you create (venue, time, size, category, city), the join requests you send, and what you type in group chats.
Safety: who you have blocked, and the reports you submit.
About your location
If you allow Bask to use your location, your device turns the coordinates into a city name (like “Taipei”) on the device itself. Only that city name is used, to decide which plans to show you.
Your coordinates are never sent to our servers and never stored. You can turn location off at any time in system settings; everything else still works, you just pick your city yourself.
The coordinates attached to a plan belong to the venue — a business the host picked from map search. They are not anyone's location.
Who can see what
Public: your display name, photo, Instagram handle, and the plans you have hosted or joined in the past. This is deliberate — people deciding whether to meet you need something to go on.
Private by default: your age and gender, unless you switch on “show age and gender” in your profile.
Only people in the same plan: group chat messages.
Only you: your email address and your block list.
One exception worth stating plainly: if you join a gender-restricted plan, the other people in it can infer your gender even if you keep it hidden. That is unavoidable with that feature, and we say so when you create or join one.
What we do not do
We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. There is no third-party tracking code in Bask.
We do not sell your data or hand it to advertisers.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with Supabase (a hosted Postgres database and file storage service) acting as our processor. Everything is encrypted in transit.
Access is enforced by database-level rules, not only by app code.
Your rights
Change: every profile field can be edited or cleared at any time.
Delete: you can delete your account from the bottom of your profile page. This erases your profile, the plans you hosted (along with their conversations), your requests and your messages. It is real deletion, not deactivation, and it cannot be undone.
Ask: for anything else about your data, email admin@jennovallc.com.
Children
Bask is not for anyone under 17. Please tell us if you believe a minor is using it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be surfaced in the app.
